Prasco Park and Legacy Field have openings this summer for a Sports Turf Management Intern and a Sports Management (facilities concentration) Intern. These internships begin May 3, and are paid positions that will provide you an experience with both natural and synthetic turfs along with facility operations and maintenance. Interns may also have the opportunity to work alongside other industry experts.

Prasco Park and Legacy Field will be entering their third season of operation in 2010. Prasco Park is a 90% sand-based, fully irrigated Kentucky Bluegrass field built to major league specifications. Legacy Field is an all synthetic surface except for the clay mound. Both fields are home of the Cincinnati Spikes, an amateur baseball program, as well as the National Christian College Athletics Association World Series. Prasco Park and Legacy Field also host high school games, college games, and various outreach events.

Sports Turf Management
         • Learn mound and plate clay maintenance
         • Learn infield dirt and conditioner management
         • Learn edging and painting techniques
         • Moisture control for infield dirt & sand-based turf systems
         • Participate in fertilizer applications
         • Participate in all other duties necessary with maintaining  a sand-based field

Sport Facilities Management
         • Manage day-to-day facilities operations
         • Maintain inventory of equipment, supplies & concessions
         • Plan & set-up for game day operations
         • Review and act upon daily facility maintenance checklist
         • Develop and maintain operation budget
